Michael Wong, Ph.D.
Background
Michael Wong is a Principal at Versant based in Toronto, Canada. He is focused on building and investing in new companies and driving pharma partnerships.
Michael was previously at Flagship Pioneering, where he helped establish institutional collaborations and creative business development models with pharma. He was also on the venture creation team, where he co-founded and operated in four biotech companies across ML-enabled small molecule discovery, genetic medicines, and delivery across therapeutic areas.
Prior to Flagship, he was the co-founder and CEO of ARCHITECHealth, a life sciences strategy consulting firm, and Industry Link, an organization that connected leading academics with the biotech industry.
History
Michael earned his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from McMaster University, where he was a Vanier Scholar and ranked nationally as one of the top four doctoral scientists by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. He also received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. from Western University in Physiology and Pharmacology.
