Max joined Versant in 2019 as General Counsel, with responsibility for all legal matters including guidance on Versant’s deal structuring for investments, portfolio company exits, fund management and operations, and regulatory compliance.

History

Prior to Versant, Max served as the first General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Polaris Partners out of its San Francisco office. Max began his legal career in the corporate departments of both Latham & Watkins LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

Earlier in his pre-law career, Max spent three years in San Francisco working as an analyst for a supply chain logistics start-up and as the marketing coordinator for a non-profit organization that provided micro-loans to low-income, minority entrepreneurs in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Max graduated from Northwestern University School of Law and received his BA in history from Duke University.
